What started as a wetsuit drive morphed into teaching hundreds of local children how to surf. Now Phil Jackson is on a mission to support children in his community who don’t have access to recreational activities. In four years, Jackson's Surf Dreams Foundation has impacted hundreds of lives by teaching children how to surf and building a community of supporters.
A recovering addict for 13 years, Phil credits surfing with saving his life. In order to give back, he hosts "Take a Kid Surfing Day" each summer, covering nearly all of the expenses. The organization also covers the fees for surf competitions, which participants have competed in across the east coast.
